Ina Garten likes to host a cocktail party and the vacations are an ideal alternative for entertaining. The Barefoot Contessa star shared the explanation why she’s a fan of Thanksgiving specifically, which she mentioned is her favourite vacation.

Throughout an interview on the Cooking Up a Storm with Al Roker podcast, Garten shared a few of her simple suggestions for Thanksgiving. In the case of vacation entertaining, Garten mentioned that Thanksgiving is her favourite as a result of it’s all about meals and friends.
“I just like that, unlike Christmas, which has so much going on — it’s just your favorite people are invited for dinner and everything is absolutely delicious,” Garten defined.

She likes to make her friends joyful

“I think — particularly for Thanksgiving, but for every dinner — what everybody likes to eat,” she defined. “You’ve invited people you love. You want to make sure they all have something they love to eat.”

Her internet hosting philosophy is straightforward. “I only invite people I love — I want them to be happy,” Garten defined.
When Roker requested Garten about Thanksgiving leftovers, she shared that she is going to typically put together additional meals to provide her friends. That means, they get to eat the scrumptious meals she serves and likewise go away with leftovers.
“Well actually I have a thing about Thanksgiving leftovers — I think the guests want to have leftovers too,” Garten defined. “I’ve done a second Thanksgiving dinner, where they have a whole turkey to take home and extra stuffing.”
Garten added, “Because everybody wants sandwiches the next day, right?”
